Mary K. Vehe Salbego

Mary is an accomplished investment banker and strategic advisor with over 20 years of experience guiding startups and middle market companies through critical growth, financing, restructuring, and exit events.  Her background spans investment banking, C-level executive roles, consulting, and board governance across a range of industries with sector expertise in consumer, food & beverage, healthcare, manufacturing, building materials, and real estate.

Prior to joining City Capital, Mary provided sophisticated, tailored advice and execution to companies regarding management buyouts, strategic exits, growth financings, operational turnarounds, and go-to-market and scalable growth strategies as Managing Partner of SapphireGate Advisors and as a CFO and corporate board director.   Mary spent her early investment banking career at William Blair & Company advising public and private companies on mergers and acquisitions, equity and debt capital raises, and restructuring transactions.  Before business school, Mary was a portfolio manager in Investment Management at Jones Lang LaSalle.  Representative clients include Morey’s Seafood, Potbelly Sandwich Works, Peapod, Royal Caribbean Cruises, Sage Products, and Rawlings Sporting Goods.

Mary earned her MBA with Honors from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and her BA with Distinction from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
