Sun Health has been acquired by an affiliate of DaVita Inc.

Chicago, Illinois – February 1, 2018;  City Capital Advisors, a results-oriented  investment bank serving family-owned and closely held private companies, announced today that it acted as the exclusive financial advisor to Sun Health in connection with its sale to an affiliate of DaVita Inc. (NYSE:  DVA). Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Sun Health, which operates a 17-station outpatient dialysis clinic located near the Presence St. Joseph Medical Center in Joliet, Illinois, was founded by Dr. Bhuvan Chawla in 1991.  Under the leadership of Dr. Chawla, who has been practicing in the Joliet community since 1981, Sun Health has built a strong reputation as an independent provider of compassionate, high-quality care to ESRD and dialysis patients in Will, Kendall and Grundy counties.   Looking ahead, Dr. Chawla remarked, “we are excited to partner with DaVita, and are confident that our patients will greatly benefit from the unparalleled focus on kidney care as well as the unique depth and breadth of clinical services, resources, capabilities and expertise that DaVita offers.”   “With City Capital’s assistance,” added Dr. Chawla, “we have found in DaVita a partner committed to improving the quality of life for our patients as well as expanding the scope of services available to CKD and ESRD patients in the southwestern suburbs.”
