Scott has spent 30 years advising private and publicly held companies in mergers and acquisitions as well as private and public capital raises and financial restructurings. Prior to joining City Capital Advisors in 2007, Scott was CEO of Brown Gibbons Lang & Company, a leading middle market investment bank, which he co-founded in 1995; prior to that Scott worked for Rodman & Renshaw Capital Group Inc., where he founded and headed the firm’s investment banking department (1985-1995); prior to that he was a partner of the Washington, DC law firm of Arnold & Porter (1978-1984); from 1974 to 1977, he was Assistant General Counsel for litigation for the U.S. Department of Energy, and he began his career as Washington Counsel for the Environmental Defense Fund (1971-1973). Scott is a member of the Board of Directors of Silver Bullet Water Treatment Company LLC, Music Dealers LLC, BCV Evolve LLC, and he is on the Advisory Board of SMS-Assist. He was named “Middle Market Dealmaker of the Year” by The M&A Advisors in 2003. Representative clients Scott has advised include Ingersoll International, Signature Graphics, Technical Concepts, UHY Advisors, AMF, Morton’s of Chicago, and AAR Corporation.
